Storytime

I took Laney to her first Storytime at the library today.  We had so much fun!  She's not like her sister was at that age.  Maya would sit in my lap, sing songs and listen to the story.  Miss Laney has a different way of doing things.  Walking around the room, saying hi to everyone, making people laugh.  I love her spunk!

 
 
 
 
 

stolen identity....almost

This morning I put my wallet in the diaper bag.  I know I did.  I remember it.  I don't like carrying a purse and the diaper bag so I just added my wallet to the diaper bag.  Off we went to Laney's Dr. Appt.  Just a check up, however she does have a little bit of a cold virus.  Next stop - Mac machine to get out some grocery money.  Look in the diaper bag - no wallet.  Empty the diaper bag FRANTICALLY - no wallet.  Drive home to search the house - no wallet.  Call the Dr. office(maybe it fell out of the diaper bag) - no wallet left there.  Go to the Dr. office to check myself- no wallet.  Drive home again, now FREAKING OUT, getting ready to call and stop all the cards.  One more search of the house - no wallet.  Grab my phone and start getting ready to call banks, look down at Miss Laney's little Halloween bag she has been carrying around the house religiously now for about a week.  She likes to put things in it and carry it around the house blowing kisses and saying bye to everyone. Hmmmmm, I wondered.  One last resort- I check the little Halloween bag- the little stinker had taken my wallet out of the diaper bag in the 3 MINUTES between me putting it in there and leaving the house and dropped it in her Halloween bag.  Good thing she is so cute.

She cracks.me.up!

Laney and I get to have some one on one time when Maya is at school everyday.  She's a trip, this baby girl of mine....Right now there is a mirror in our hallway(well, not now cuz she almost knocked it over, but earlier this week).  Ben has been finishing up Maya's new pink bedroom and there's a lot of stuff in the hallway...temporary storage you know:)  Laney spends 15 minutes every day admiring herself in the mirror.

Then she thinks again and keeps that cheerio for herself.

 

Oh Laney baby- you crack me up!  I love spending this time with you!

Almost

1!  I can't believe my baby turns one next week.  That was probably one of the fastest years ever!

I did take a 10 month shot on the quilt, not sure that I ever posted it....

 

Crazy drool and all- the more mobile she gets the harder it is to make her stay for a picture.  Here's another try...

Oh my goodness!  That baby was sooooo tiny.  Stay tuned for a 12 month album. 

 

 

The difference

At 9 months, Maya could sit with a pile of toys in her room happily playing for about 10 minutes.  Not so with miss Laney Kate.  Nope- she'd rather crawl into the bathroom, empty the entire box of dixie cups and then make her way to terrorize the trash can.  She's lucky she's got the sweetest face ever!

 I loaded an album of Laney's 8 month pics on the side bar.  I know I know, I need to catch up at some point as she is 9 months now.  I will, I promise.

7 months

Dear Laney-

I realize you turned 7 months yesterday and I have not posted a 6 month picture of you yet.  I am so sorry.  I did take a few on the quilt, just haven't gotten around to editing them yet. But I will, I promise.  I can't believe you are now more 1 than a newborn.  You bless our lives with your contagious laugh, bobble head antics and loud yells(just to get noticed then you flash a smile).  You love sitting up playing with toys with the boppy behind you as you don't quite understand gravity just yet.  Rolling is really not your thing as well as tummy time.  Actually you hate it and cry until someone comes and saves you from your misery.  You really enjoy your meals and eat every bit although no one can probably tell from your cheekers!  Two bottom teeth have come in and you have just experienced your first week with the food net.  Mmmmm, real apples, pears and bananas are so much better than the pureed stuff.  I love that you hug me when I get you out of the crib in the morning.  You say Da Da da, and we are still trying to figure out who your friend Bob Bob Bob is.  You love your big sister and peek for her when you hear her voice.  You have just begun to finally sleep through the night.  We are thrilled beyond belief but sometimes just sometimes I miss our 3am conversations.   Don't get any ideas my dear.   You have a mighty stare and often play staredown with people that come over to talk to you.  You are wearing mostly 6-12 month clothing but I just got out the 12-18 tub in fear that your shirts are beginning to get a little snug around the middle, and your onesies are pulled taught.  Please don't grow too fast baby girl.  You like to play blocks or rather knock down blocks with your daddy.  You are also starting to reach for the crib and whimper for bed when we rock you at night.  You certainly know when you are tired, but if you wouldn't mind, we do enjoy rocking you a bit..it's ok to let us have our moments.  You are only a baby once.  So-that's what you are up to and by the way, your hair is beginning to get lighter.  hmmmpf.  I thought you would be my brown haired girl.  Maybe you might, you never know.  I've been told a post without a picture is quite dull, so here is a sneak peek of your 6 month photo shoot.  I promise I will get to work on the rest and then it'll be time for the next one.  Oh wait- it is time for the next one....   I love you, Mama(or maybe Bob Bob) I can only hope.
